Mary Carol Solum, Citizens for Safe Water Around Badger
Mary Carol Solum's environmental activism began in 1990 when she found that her town – the Town of Merrimac – had no land use plan to direct development and to protect natural resources. She became involved in Citizens for Safe Water Around Badger, devoting considerable time and energy to the clean-up of the former ammunition plant. Mary Carol said that "Citizens for Safe Water Around Badger is a very successful grassroots organization, and I am proud to be a member."
