Eve was struggling, both in school and with her peers, and was referred to the Dane County TimeBank Youth Court for fighting. The jurors—student leaders—were able to get her to open up about what she was going through at home and school. Eve was sentenced to work with a tutor as well as a mentor (Catherine, shown here with Eve). The result: Eve’s grades went up, she learned new coping skills from Catherine, and the fight was not put in her juvenile record. Eve’s mom praised Youth Court for helping put Eve on a more positive path.
