high-voltage transmission lines above a farmNetwork for Peace and Justice (WNPJ) has begun supporting the work of SOUL of the Kickapoo, based in La Farge. SOUL is a growing grassroots effort of people who are concerned and active around the proposed high-voltage transmission lines that would intrude upon farms, homes, and communities in the area. Hundreds of WNPJ members signed SOUL’s online petition about the high-voltage lines, offering support when approaching state policymakers.

WNPJ also joined with SOUL at a bipartisan meeting at the Capitol. That meeting brought together energy experts, watchdog groups, local officeholders, Amish communities, and farming communities. All demanded a more democratic energy planning process and a more sustainable energy future.
