The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin Education Network trained volunteers work one-on-one with those who are confused by the many changes in election law. In one case, the League helped a homeless man in Madison who needed documentation to register to vote.
In addition, the League helped a woman who had left her job in Chicago to care for her ailing mother. She eventually moved to Madison and had her purse stolen. With no ID, she could not get a job and, at the time, she would not have been allowed to vote. The League worked with her to obtain proper documentation.
