The Madison Audubon Society’s Mark Martin has received the National Audubon Society’s prestigious Great Egret Award. The award is given to those who have made significant long-term contributions to Audubon and conservation. Mark has been co-manager and volunteer at Madison Audubon Society’s Goose Pond Sanctuary since 1979. During his tenure the sanctuary has grown from 100 to 660 acres, including 400 acres of restored prairie.
Mark joins an elite cohort of fewer than 50 people from across the nation who have received the Great Egret Award since its inception in 1998.
