Madison Audubon Society (MAS) offers public education programs every year. Last year MAS discussions and meetings took people on a whirlwind tour:
• To the Upper Yahara River, where Russ Hefty discussed the effects of artificially elevated lake levels on adjacent wetlands
• To the eastern slope of the Ecuadorian Andes where Emily Lind had an internship focused on Tropical Conservation
• To the Arctic National Petroleum Reserve with author and explorer Debbie Miller discussing the importance of protecting this stunningly beautiful and important ecological resource
• And back to central Wisconsin for John Shillinglaw to share his work protecting endangered Karner blue butterflies
