Walk the Walk 2015: Friday, October 23

Walk the Walk, a tour of social and environmental justice organizations in the UW–Madison neighborhood, takes place Friday, October 23, 2:00–3:45 p.m.

Choose one of three 60-minute, themed walking tours to learn about nonprofits near campus that are advancing social and environmental justice.

  • First stop: Meet at Ogg Hall at 2:00 p.m. (follow the signs) for a brief orientation before heading out to visit local nonprofit organizations.

Choose from one of three themed tours (additional nonprofit participants will be added as they are confirmed, so please check back regularly for updates):

Tour 1:  Social Justice – Focus on Public Policy and Action

Tour 2: Economic Justice – Focus on Housing and Jobs

Tour 3: Civil and Community Rights – Focus on Environment and Community Education

  • Clean Wisconsin – Your environmental voice. Protecting Wisconsin’s clean water and air and advocating for clean energy
  • Midwest Environmental Advocates – A public interest law firm making environmental justice a reality.
  • WORT 89.9 FM Community Radio – Community-oriented, noncommercial, listener-sponsored radio station broadcasting to south central Wisconsin on 89.9 FM and worldwide via the web
