Walk the Walk: Friday, October 17

Walk the Walk, a tour of social and environmental justice organizations in the UW–Madison neighborhood, takes place Friday, October 17, 2:30–4:30 p.m.

Choose one of three 60-minute, themed walking tours to learn about nonprofits near campus that are advancing social and environmental justice.

  • First stop: Meet at Ogg Hall at 2:30 p.m. (follow the signs) for a brief orientation before heading out to visit local nonprofit organizations.
  • Last stop: A networking reception with nonprofit leaders hosted by Community Shares of Wisconsin at their office in the Center for Change, 3:30–4:30 p.m.

In the meantime you can choose one of three tours:

Tour 1: Economic Justice and Health

Tour 2: Environmental Justice

  • Sierra Club-John Muir Chapter: Working to protect Wisconsin’s clean air, clean water, and special places.
  • Sustain Dane: Generating and inspiring local sustainability.
  • Clean Wisconsin: Your environmental voice. Protecting Wisconsin’s clean water and air and advocating for clean energy.

Tour 3: Social Justice and Civil Rights
