Dana King – Nuestro Mundo

Dana King is a parent at Nuestro Mundo Community School that has been a dedicated volunteer for the past eight years. Dana routinely volunteers in the classroom and contributes to the wider community through fundraising, garden, and social justice work.

Dana is from New York (Long Island) and came to Madison for a job at the UW Veterinary School –   She is a veterinary surgeon currently practicing at VCA-Veterinary Emergency service/Veterinary Specialty Center.  I’ve enjoyed volunteering at Nuestro Mundo since my kids started there in 2012 – it is a very special community of diverse people sharing common goals to help one another.   Love is truly spoken there.

Kerry Wilcox – Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired

Kerry has a long time interest in birding by ear–in particular with people who had different levels of sightedness.” So Kerry Wilcox, Madison Audubon Society volunteer, suggested partnering with the Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired to host a meaningful, enriching class that opens up the birding world to those who experience it without their sense of sight. Several classes later, Kerry has successfully introduced Birding by Ear to many individuals with vision loss.
