Here are some of the dozens of volunteers who helped transform Beverly’s home (Beverly is in black slacks in the front row). Now widowed, 82-year-old Beverly initially built the house with her husband. Her 62-year-old son, who is cognitively disabled, lives with her. Both were grateful for the much-needed improvements.
Through Project Home and the Carpenters Union, they received a new roof, windows, two doors, a front railing, new siding on the entry—and repaired stairs after a carpenter’s foot went through one of the steps. Beverly’s neighbors brought over a pot luck lunch for the volunteers.
