In Spring of last year, REAP Food Group worked with American Family Children’s Hospital to open their Farmers’ Market Café, with a menu emphasizing healthy, fresh, locally grown ingredients. The Hospital sees this effort as part of their mission to serve healthy food to their staff, patients, and patient families–and to help educate customers about the value of eating healthy, locally sourced food.
REAP knows that healthcare institutions play a key role in our local food system, connecting the dots between health, diet, and environmental sustainability. REAP hopes that the Farmers’ Market Café partnership encourages similar changes in healthcare facilities across southern Wisconsin.
