The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin (LWVWI) Education Network encourages “active … participation in government,” and there are few who exhibit that better–even before they can vote!–than Allison Cotton and Lexie Higgins. Andrea Kaminski from the LWVWI helped the girls via FaceTime as they worked on their junior high History Day project about LWV founder Carrie Chapman Catt. For their project the girls even visited the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics at Iowa State University.
Andrea was very impressed with the girls’ work on our rights and responsibilities related to the vote. No doubt we’ll see more impressive work from these two young women in the future.
