On Giving Tuesday, December 3, Community Shares of Wisconsin (CSW) raised a total BaileyCrop
of $8,360, which places us 20th in the country among the fundraisers using Razoo, the online fundraising tool, for the Giving Tuesday campaign. This high ranking means that the Razoo Foundation is donating another $1,375 to CSW, for a grand total of $9,735.

“This clearly shows that social and environmental justice is a high priority in our community,” said CSW Executive Director Crystel Anders.  “We are so grateful for the many donors who stood with us for justice on this national Day of Giving.  An anonymous $1,000 gift was a particularly pleasant surprise for us.”

Now in its second year nationwide, Giving Tuesday is a nonprofit phenomenon, Anders explained. “Falling on the first Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it puts the emphasis on giving back. About 10,000 organizations participated this year, and online giving was up 90% nationwide compared to last year.

“It’s apparent that people are attracted to philanthropy during the holiday season, as evidenced by the donations,” Anders continued.  “And of course we’re appreciative that people responded so strongly to our work for justice.”
