CSW member group Wisconsin Democracy Campaign (WDC) is very pleased to announce recent passage of the Impartial Justice law. The bill was passed by the state Assembly and Senate, and signed by Governor Doyle, late last year. Passage of public financing for state Supreme Court elections easily qualifies as the most significant campaign reform in Wisconsin in more than 30 years.
Wisconsin was the only state to enact public financing legislation in 2009. The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign and the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin Education Fund, another Community Shares member group, have been leading efforts for this type of judicial reform.
