The Wisconsin League of Conservation VotersAurora and others working with WLCVI Institute’s Native Vote Program has done more than increase voter turnout among the state’s Native Americans (in 2012, by 14% over 2008 levels among some tribes).  The program also fosters leadership among people like Aurora, who said, “I learned more than I could imagine . . . about the electoral process and specific Native community issues.  I was there . . . pushing for an America that we, as Native Americans, are hopeful for. We want to be involved, we want to be heard. . . . I personally feel I was given more than just an opportunity, I was given inspiration.”

WLCVI is committed to developing more partnerships with Native Americans, natural allies when it comes to protecting our clean water, air, and beautiful natural resources.
