With microfinance loans thanks to Working Capital for Community Needs, borrower Carlos Valle Sequeria was able to grow his fishing business on Lake Nicaragua. His first micro-loan of $171 was in 2011 to buy fishing line and fuel. His most recent loan was for $571 for boat repairs and to buy larger nets. The larger nets have enabled Carlos to catch and sell more fish—allowing him to build a better life for his four children.
Though Carlos attended school through fifth grade, he hopes that his children will be educated and have professional careers. To fulfill this dream, he plans to continue borrowing prudently to grow his business. WCCN is proud to support Carlos in caring for his family.
